Got one and I will be dehydrating anything that comes my way! LOL

Oh my gosh it has been about 7 hours to dry some sweet potatoes

I bought these tiny little gourds from Facebook and I thought that it would be such a good idea to make garland with them and dried sweet potatoes
What an idiot I am!!! I will make this garland for my upcoming show and have to charge $500 per garland just to pay the hydro bill!!!!
Tomorrows job get more sweet potatoes and a DEHYDRATOR !!!

I swear one day my husband ....

Ok ladies I think I have sent my husband over the edge! I bought this black sheep's wool from an antique/pioneer dealer and thought it would be so wonderful by my spinning wheel. However, when I pulled it out of the box my kids screamed and my husband well lets just say there was some no so good words that came out of his mouth... I don't think I have ever laughed that hard in my life.
One thing not in my favour was the farm smell that came with it. What a bunch of city slickers I live with!
I did wash it and hang it outside to dry and air out but now I just have to be patient and wait till everyone goes back to school and work to sneak it upstairs.
My husband is very easy going and doesn't say too much but this was a little much for him.
I on the other hand I will never forget my family's reaction and it should make for good conversation over Easter dinner this coming weekend.

Only my kid....

Wow is all I can say about my daughter. I sent her to the forest to go get some sticks and told her "don't forget the ladder and clippers". But when I looked out there she was fighting with all of her might for this one tree branch. Now as I stood and watched I had to wonder why did she bring the ladder and clippers when she was only going to swing and pull on them like she was Tarzan. After a few minutes of watching her and laughing at the site of this kid pulling with all of her strength I reminded her about the ladder and clippers sitting next to her. She looked at me like I was the crazy one! Go figure! Oh well help is help and it was free and most importantly I did not have go into the forest to get them! You gotta love our kids and I certainly love mine more than anything!

It is my youngest son's birthday today and it is kind of special in my heart because he was born on my late father's birthday so I am off to make cupcakes. Happy birthday to my son Simon and my Dad!

Hello My Friends!!
Well I have been very busy trying to get some more things done for my website, my spring show that is quickly approaching and for the March update for PHM! I just don't know where the time goes. I always have these big plans and by the end of the day I think "How in the world was I going to get that all done" LOL!! Oh well tomorrow is another day!
I bought this pattern from Peach Bottom Primitives and decided that although sunflowers are usually for the fall I just have to make them now. Sunflowers are my most favourite flower and I thought if I make some they may just brighten my mood and get me out of this winter blah! I am sure that any flower right about now would be nice. I am getting very tired of the cold snowy weather that just seems like it will never go away.
Well my friends I must go and tuck the kids in and then make the most of some working hours that are left tonight.

A Friday well Spent

I found an antique store in my own town today and decided I would drop in. That was one of the best decision I have ever made. I purchased everything in this picture for $60.00 no tax. I scored today my friends. I usually don't have very good luck but today was great.
NOW.... I would like everyone to help me... I found a large primitive wooden dough box for $90.00 is that a good price or not. They are not easy to find around here and he has dropped the price from $170 to $90. Let me know what all you think about that

New bear designs

Hi Everyone
I hope everyone has been having a wonderful weekend. It is Family day weekend so that means a long weekend and boy do I have to tell you it has been a LOOOONG weekend. But back to a little peace and quiet tomorrow. I sure don't sound like I could win mother of the year when I am complaining on Family Day weekend. LOL!!!
Oh we'll nobody is perfect!
But.... It has been a somewhat productive weekend with some new bear designs for my website. If you get a moment come and have a look at these and many new things that I have added!
